Use of cell phones increasing, landline phone usage decreasing

A marked fall was registered in the use of landline telephony while mobile communications networks saw a considerable rise in the volume of calls measured in minutes, according to the latest figures released by the Croatian national statistical office (DZS).

In Q1 2013, the amount of calls in fixed communications networks in Croatia was 872 million minutes, down by 20.6% year.

On the other hand, a total of 1.87 billion minutes was spent in Croatia's mobile networks, up by 22.6% compared to Q1 2012.

Text messages rose by 11.4% to 839 million in Q1 2013.
