Croatia Airlines reported a loss of HRK 38.8 million in the first half of 2014, which was down by 52% compared to H1 2013, according to a financial statement this government-owned national airline company issued on the Zagreb Stock Exchange on Tuesday.

The first half of a year is always less favourable to the company's performance due to the seasonal variations and more flights in the summer.

In H1 2014, the number of flights conducted by this flag carrier of the Republic of Croatia increased by 3% on the year, and a total of 801,288 passengers were flown, down by 1% compared to H1 2013.

There are 975 workers on the CA payroll, 6.3% down in comparison to the number of employees at the end of 2013. The CA fleet consists of 12 planes: six Airbus and six Q400 aircraft.
