In the first weeks of March, Canadian - Greek air carrier SkyGreece Airlines will start selling tickets for this season's direct flights from Toronto to Zagreb, which will be operated from late June to mid - October.

The announcement was made by the company's authorised sales representative for Croatia, Mark Mocnaj, ahead of a formal presentation of the new flight service in Toronto on February 26.

The presentation will be attended by SkyGreece executives and representatives of the Croatian tourism sector - Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin and National Tourism Board Director Ratomir Ivicic.

The Croatian Canadian Business Network, of which Mocnaj is a member, is involved in the project. "The idea and aim of this flight is to bring Croatia closer to Canada as a tourist destination and develop a new business model," Mocaj said.

Flights between Toronto and Zagreb will be operated once a week, starting from June 22 until October 15, with a 274 seat capacity Boeing 767 - 300 ER.

SkyGreece expects to fly nearly 5,000 passengers in 17 rotations. Flight duration is about nine and a half hours, and Mocnaj said that ticket prices would be affordable.
