This year, the low-tariff airlines Germanwings and Ryanair will introduce flights from Zadar Airport to Hannover, Oslo and Brussels, and they will continue with flights introduced last year, officials of the Zadar City Tourist Board said earlier this week.

The new Germanwings flight from Zadar to Hannover will be operating once a week, on Saturdays, in the period between May 1 and October 30.

Apart from Hannover, the German airline also flies from Zadar to Stuttgart, Cologne/Bonn and Berlin.

Europe's biggest low-tariff airline Ryanair has said it will introduce flights to Oslo on March 31, to operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. The new flight from Zadar to Brussels will be introduced on May 1 and it will be operating three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Apart from the new flights, Ryanair will continue flying from Zadar to Great Britain (London, Edinburgh), Ireland (Dublin), Sweden (Stockholm), Germany (Frankfurt, Duesseldorf) and Italy (Pisa).

Local tourist officials said that in the last several years the said flights had contributed to a significant increase in tourist arrivals from almost all destinations the two airlines fly to from Zadar.
