The fear that the new regulations for the prevention of illegal chartering might avert navigators from visiting the Croatian Adriatic Sea, proved to be unjustified. According to the statement of Branko Bačić the State Secretary for Sea in the Ministry of Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development, during June and July we had 3.5 % more vessels visiting our coast than in the same time last year.

Considering the intensified crowds in our harbors and marinas it is possible that this year will be the most successful year, so far.

He also said that the new regulations were helping to control the work of foreign charter- companies. Based on all this a huge income loss via illegal chartering was prevented and the budget earned an extra of HRK 46 million.
