The Sisak port authority will draw up a master plan for the new Sisak river port as part of the IPA programme for Croatia - Regional Development Programme, which will include a feasibility study, a cost efficiency analysis, an environmental study and a project application for the financing from EU funds.

"The project, worth EUR 1.43 million, is aimed at contributing to the development of the Sava river navigation schemes." stated Oliver Kumric, Assistent minister in the Ministry for Maritime affairs, Transport and Infrastructure.

The new port will be a logistic centre for local and regional industrial production and trade and it will give an impetus to the job creation.
