Croatia must get prepared for the absorption of the money from EU funds which will be made available to Croatia also in the transport sector once the country joins the block, it was said at the opening of the EUR 549,000 project "Technical Assistance to the Transport Operating Structure in identification, assessment and preparations of projects" in Zagreb on Tuesday.

The project is co-financed as part of the IPA programme 2007-2011. The project is planned to be implemented within 15 months, from February 2012 to May 2013.

The purpose of this service contract is to assist in establishing a national team of experts within the Transport Operating Structure capable of independent identification, assessment and preparation of major project applications for future EU funding in the transport sector.
