Electro-technical officer
All seafarers regardless of their nationality who are applying for Certificate of Competency - Electro-technical officer (STCW III/6) can graduate in foreign electro school or Electro College.

- Completed a foreign electrical secondary school education program with a duration of 4 years, or completed a foreign electrical secondary school education program with a duration of 3 years, together with at least 36 months of seagoing service as a Ship's Electrician or Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) in the engine department on a ship with a main propulsion power of at least 750 kW or completed a foreign electrical college education program;
- Completed an additional education program for Electro-Technical Officers at an authorized Croatian maritime training centre;
- Possession of a valid Certificate of Proficiency in Basic Safety Training (STCW Regulation VI/1) issued by the Republic of Croatia or by a country recognized by the Republic of Croatia;
- Possession of a valid Certificate of Proficiency in Advanced Fire Fighting (STCW Regulation VI/3) issued by the Republic of Croatia or by a country recognized by the Republic of Croatia;
- Possession of a valid Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (STCW Regulation VI/2-1) issued by the Republic of Croatia or by a country recognized by the Republic of Croatia;
- Possession of a valid Certificate of Proficiency in Medical First Aid (STCW Regulation VI/4-1) issued by the Republic of Croatia or by a country recognized by the Republic of Croatia;
- Documentary evidence of successful completion of approved training in Leadership and Teamworking Skills, issued by the Republic of Croatia or by a country recognized by the Republic of Croatia;
- Documentary evidence of successful completion of approved training in Marine Environmental Awareness, or at least 6 months of seagoing service in the engine department on a ship with a main propulsion power of at least 750 kW (applicable only to seagoing service completed until 31 December 2016);
- Possession of a valid medical fitness certificate issued by an authorized medical practitioner in the Republic of Croatia or in a country that has concluded a mutual recognition agreement with the Republic of Croatia;
- A Seaman's Book containing evidence of at least 12 months of seagoing service as an ETO Cadet, Ship's Electrician or Electro-Technical Officer after obtaining the certificate under STCW Regulation III/6 or III/7, or a Seaman's Book containing evidence of at least 6 months of seagoing service as an ETO Cadet or Ship's Electrician, together with an approved Training Record Book;
- Pass the examination for Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) at a Croatian Harbour Master's Office.
