The realization of the Rijeka Gateway Project

At today's meeting the Croatian Government offered guarantee for a loan intended for the Rijeka Gateway Project in the total value of EUR 88 million.

The World Bank will co-finance the modernization of the Port Rijeka with EUR 84 million, which includes the development of port berths and the improvement of port services while the Republic of Croatia will participate with EUR 4 million coming from the state budget during the period 2009 - 2014.

According to conditions proscribed by the World Bank, the 23 years loan will be granted to the Port of Rijeka Authority with a 10 years waiting period.

The signing of the necessary agreements will take place after adopting the Report on the final negotiations and the passing of the Agreement of the Croatian Government regarding the consensus on signing the Guarantee Contract.
