Vipnet in 2009th with a drop of revenue and profit and growth of the users

Vipnet Telecommunications Company last year ended with the fall of the total revenue of 8.9 percent, to 476.9 million euros, the operational profit (EBITDA) decreased 14.5 percent to 170 million euros, while profit before interest and taxes (EBIT ) less for 20.2 per cent on 2008. and amounted to 100.8 million euros.

Vipnet business results are published today as part of Telekom Austria Group, and representing them today, told the president of Vipnet Croatia Mladen Pejkovic to the reporters in Zagreb, he said it was "still a nice result" given despite of the crisis conditions of business and last year introduced crisis-tax of 6 percent for the mobile industry.

As a result, last year reduced capital investment by about 21 percent compared to 2008, or 57.5 million euros, but are still among the leading investors in telecoms region, and will strive to maintain this position with additional investments in the future, said Pejkovic.

Stressing that the overall result has been contributed to the efficiency in the operations and control of cutting the costs by 6.2 percent, compared to the 2008th, Pejkovic also said that while the material and other rights of employees are not cutted.

Despite the crisis the total number of users have increased by 4.7 percent up to 2.6 million of them, with notable growth in the number of mobile broadband users to 77 percent, of them 137 thousand. In this year Vipnet gained 60 percent market share in mobile broadband, while their overall market share increased up to 42.6 percent.

The foundation of future growth is visible in mobile broadband, but also in retaining the quality of networks and services, in which they will continue to work intensively and which will invest up.

Pejkovic announced that this year should be completed process of merging fixed and mobile telephony in the Telekom Austria Group, as well as the structural transformation of the existing Telecom into a Holding, which will Vipnet become a sister company in the group.
