Prototype of Koncar's electric passenger train makes test run

The prototype of an electric passenger train designed by the Koncar factory made its first test run along the Zagreb-Koprivnica line on Thursday, the Croatian Rail (HZ) company said.

The train was manufactured for HZ under a HRK 39 million contract signed in November 2009. It is expected to begin regular service in April.

The train is designed as a 75-metre low-floor multiple unit with a seating capacity of 210 and a standing capacity of 220. It can develop a maximum speed of 160 km per hour.
