Ongoing Project for Construction/Reconstruction of Passenger and Excursion Fleet

At today's session the Government decided to accept the continuation and broadening of the Project for financing the construction and reconstruction of the passenger and excursion fleet owned by Croatian private ship carriers/small entrepreneurs, as it its proposed by the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development. 

The Project will allow the improving of navigation security, the strengthening of a fresh entrepreneurship along the coast and on the islands, the development of tourism via one-day excursions and multi-day cruises along with the conservation of authentic traditional wooden ships (sailing boats).

The Project will be realized with help of State subventions, secured through the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development in the value of HRK 2.5 million for the co-financing of ship construction/reconstruction activities.

In order to preserve the tradition of authentic wooden ships (sailing boats) in Croatian shipyards, the Ministry will also finance the necessary preparations for the building of Croatian wooden classic excursion/training boat, type 'Loger', between 24 and 36 meters long.

The mentioned financial means will be assigned with help of public tenders organized by the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development.
