The European Union will donate 650,000 euros to help Croatia adjust its telecommunications sector to EU regulations. The donation is part of a CARDS 2004 project aimed at strengthening the capacity of the Croatian Telecommunications Agency, the European Commission Delegation to Croatia said on Monday.

The donation will be used by the Croatian Telecommunications Agency, the Agency for the Protection of Market Competition and the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development.

The project was launched last November and will last until May 2007.
It will be presented at a panel discussion on the liberalisation of the telecommunications market, to be organised by the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development on Wednesday.(Hina)
