Tender for public-private partnership in Zagreb Airport project extended until May 9

The deadline for the submission of documents based on which a decision will be made on whether bidders in the first stage of bidding for a public-private partnership in the Zagreb Airport project meet the required conditions, has been extended until May 9, in line with requests from a large number of bidders who need to collect the necessary proof of their ability to meet the set conditions.

This is the second time the tender deadline is being extended.

On February 18, the Ministry published a tender for the first stage of selection of a concessionaire to build a new passenger terminal at Zagreb Airport and to operate the existing terminal and the newly-built one and the airport infrastructure. The bids were to be submitted by April 4, but on March 31, due to great interest among investors, the deadline was extended until May 2.

Ministry officials said that bids in the first stage of bidding for the public-private partnership in the Zagreb Airport project would be assessed by May 12.

The bidders that meet the set conditions will be invited to submit their final bids by May 30, 2011, the ministry said.

The best bidder is expected to be chosen in September and work on the project is expected to start in the second quarter of 2012.

The tender will be carried out in two bidding stages, and bidders who pass the first stage will enter the second stage.
