Zagreb Airport marking 50th anniversary

Zagreb Airport is marking its 50th anniversary on Tuesday and Wednesday, with August seeing a record number of passengers in one month - 260,372 - up 4.25% from August 2011.

The number of passengers has been growing in the last two years, from 2.07 million in 2010 to 2.32 million in 2011.

Last year's revenues were HRK 318.5 million, or HRK 423.5 million with three daughter companies. Earnings before interest and tax were HRK 54.6 million.

The company expects this year's numbers of passengers and flights to be record high, while the financial results could be at last year's level.

Zagreb Airport's future is significantly determined by an agreement giving the French consortium ZAIC a 30-year concession for the building of a new passenger terminal and the management of the existing and new terminals and the accompanying infrastructure.
