Five regional rail companies signed a cooperation agreement in the northern Croatian coastal resort of Opatija on Friday, Croatian Rail (HZ) said in a statement.
The agreement on cooperation in cargo transport was signed by rail companies from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina's entities the Republika Srpska and the Bosniak-Croat Federation, Serbia, and Croatia.
The purpose of the agreement, reached at a conference in Portoroz, Slovenia, in March, is to promote joint ventures on transport markets and harmonise the companies' sales policies with a view to increasing competitiveness, the volume of transport, service quality, customer satisfaction, and cutting costs, the statement said.
