Luggage in transit coming from EU no longer checked at Croatian airports

As of November 1, luggage in transit coming from airports in the European Union no longer needs to undergo security checks at Croatian airports, the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure said in a statement on Tuesday.

The decision, adopted by the national Commission for Aviation Security, refers to all airports in the country and is considered the first step in introducing the principle of one-stop security, namely, applying security measures only at departure airports, without further checks at transit airports.

The decision is designed to facilitate the flow of luggage in transit and prevent flight delays. It was adopted in line with relevant EU regulation.
