The railway sector in Europe aspires to reaching a better level of competitiveness and increasing its state in the overall transport market, was stated at a two-day meeting of the leading people of railway companies of the Group G4, which ended in the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar on Friday.
The regional Group G4 was founded by the Croatian, Austrian, Slovenian and Hungarian railway companies in 2004 which were later joined by other railway administrations from the region between the Danube and the Adriatic.
Apart from representatives of the railway companies from the four countries, the meeting in Dubrovnik was also attended by the railway representatives from Slovakia and the federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The event was also attended by a representative of the Community of European Railways (CER).
