Croatian Railways: Intensified Traffic in July

The passenger traffic to and from the seaside during July, compared to the same period in 2005, registered an increase of 10.6%, according to the statement made by the Croatian Railways (Hrvatske Željeznice – HŽ)
During the period from 1-23 July, the HŽ transported via regular train lines 55.238 passengers, 132 cars and 23 motorcycles.
Via additional trains from Germany and Serbia, HŽ transported 1700 passengers, 150 cars and 95 motorcycles.
Along the route Zagreb – Split, in both directions, the number of passengers increased by 12-16% during day and by 9% during night lines.
The transport of cars increased by 26%, and night trains transported 945 passengers in sleeping cars.
