Vukovar Port Authority Received EKO certificate

The Vukovar Port Authority introduced an environmental coordination system based on the standard ISO 14001:2004, the port was awarded with this certificate by the international certificate company Det Norske Veritas.

In 2003, the Vukovar Port Authority introduced a quality management system according to the standards of ISO 9001:2000; which made it easier to manage business processes.

Due to an important growth of traffic (by 137%), i.e. from 290 tones in 2004 up to 796 tones in 2005, accompanied by a growth of concessions for the unload/reload and storage of petroleum and petroleum derivatives in the port of Vukovar; it became necessary to define important aspects of the environment through a closer control of concessions and their activities related to the environment.

We consider that the implementation of the system for environmental management according to ISO 14001:2004 will support the safety of the port, prevent further pollution and create a better business image for the port, as was officially stated by Det Norske Veritas and the Vukovar Port Authority.
The implementation of the system will make it easier for the Port Authority control the port.
