Nautical ports achived 11.1% higher revenue in 2009

Total of the 98 Croatian nautical ports achieved the income of the 543.3 million HRK (excluding VAT) in last year, which is 11.1% more than the year before, according to the data of the Central Bureau of the Statistics.

Most of the last year's total turnover of maritime ports of the 74% or 405.6 million HRK, was generated from the rental of berths, wich compared to the 2008th is the increase of the 11.5%.  By the permanent-berth in the nautical ports is achieved 322 million HRK, or 14.2% more, while the rental of the berths for the vessels in transit revenued amounted of the 83.6 million HRK, or 2.3% more.

On a permanent berths at the end of the last year (till the December 31st) in the ports of the nautical tourism was 0.9% more vessels than at the end of the 2008, or a total of 14,801 vessels. Of these, the berths in the sea have been used by 87%, or 12,878 vessels, and the remaining 13 per cent or 1923 vessels used the coastal-berths.

According to the type of the vessel, at a permanent-berths at the sea were 46.3% of the motor boats, 47.9% of the sail-yachts and other vessels by 5.8%.

Considering the flag of the vessels on a permanent-berths were 36.6% vessels were from the Croatia, followed by 18.1% of the vessels under the flag of Austria, Germany 14.6%, U.S. 6.3%, Slovenia 5.8% and 5% of the Italy. That makes a total of 86.4% of the total number of the vessels on a permanent-berths.

Last year, the transit through the Croatian port of nautical tourism have passed 5.9% fewer vessels than 2008th, 204,137 of them.

Of the total number of the 98 nautical ports, in Croatia is 58 marinas (of which 10 is so called 'dry-marinas'), and the remaining ports in total is 40. Total of the water's surface at the ports is 3,293,558 square meters, and all ports registered a total of 16,848 berths during last year.

Central Bureau of the Statistics's datas show that most of the nautical-tourism ports (32 ports) is placed in the Primorsko-goranska County. In the territory of the County of Zadar is 24 of the nautical ports, 14 in Istria,in the Split-dalmatian County is 13 of the nautical-ports, the County of the Sibenik-knin has 11 of the nautical-ports, and Dubrovnik-Neretva County has four ports.
