The "3 May" shipyard delivered today the tanker "Verige" for the client "Uljanik plovidba", a handover was attended by State Secretary for the Sea capt. Mario Babic.
This tanker is designed for transportation of petroleum products and chemicals, the ship is 195 meters long, 32 meters wide and 18 meters high and has a capacity of 52 000 tons.
The "Verige" tanker is the second of four ships for the "Uljanik povidba", which build a "3 May" shipyard in Rijeka, the remaining two ships will be identical to the "Verige", and one of those will be built this year.
The handover of this ship in to the fleet of the "Uljanik plovidba" increased the number of the operating fleet ships to a total of eight ships, with an average age of 3.5 years. The "Verige tanker immediately after handover will be involved in a commercial exploitation.
While the "Verige" tanker was delivered with three months of delay, due to the insolvency of the "3. Maj" shipyard, from the "Uljanik plovidba" point out that they were satisfied with the cooperation with this shipyard, adding that the delay was the result of the difficult situation in the shipbuilding industry, and they are on this issue socially sensitive, as they say.
