The ship "Serine", which was stranded near the northern Croatian Adriatic island of Unije on Tuesday, has been surrounded by dams and there is no danger of sea pollution, but oil from its fuel tanks cannot be pumped out and holes caused by the shipwreck cannot be repaired yet due to a gale, the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure said on Wednesday.
Members of the crew left the ship last night, they have been provided for and will be given medical help.
The 82-metre cargo ship was sailing from the northern Adriatic port of Rijeka to Algeria, under the flag of Sierra Leone. The ship is owned by the "Anomyo Maritime Losa" shipping company. (Hina)
