Year 2006 – Croatian Adriatic Sea Visited By 565 Foreign Cruisers

Last year the Croatian Adriatic Sea registered 565 foreign cruisers, which carried 597 708 passengers, spending in Croatia a total of 800 days.

Compared to the year 2005, in 2006 the number of those cruises increased by 23,9 % and the number of passengers, on board of those ships, by 16,9 %.

According to official data, the period of time those passengers spent in the Croatian Adriatic went up by 21.6 %, as compared to the year 2005.

Most of those cruisers chose for their first arrival at port, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County (526), followed by the Zadar County (21) and the Šibenik-Knin County 18.

The most often visited port was the port of Dubrovnik with a total of 468 visits, followed by the port of Korčula (114), Zadar (40), Split (39), Hvar (22), Šibenik (19), Ploče (18), Pula and Rijeka (17 each) and other.

Considering the flags under which those cruisers are navigating, most of them carry the flag of the Bahamas (154) with a total of 154 thousand passengers.

Next in line are those sailing under the flag of Italy (90) with 168 thousand passengers, followed by Panama (61) with 147 thousand passengers, France (35) and Malta.
