The Zadar shipping company 'Tankerska plovidba' was the sole bidder who handed in its offer for the purchase of shares of the Split shipping company 'Jadroplov'. This information was stated today at the Croatian Privatization Fund (Hrvatski fond za privatizaciju – HFP), at the opening of the received offers.
'Tankerska plovidba' is offering HRK 240 million for 65.49% of the 'Jadroplov' shares. 'Tankerska plovidba' would pay this amount within 15 days from the moment of signing the agreement. As a financial instrument of security, they are offering a bank guarantee provided by the Privredna banka Zagreb.
The Zadar shipping company also agrees, should the agreement be signed, to maintain managing and technical activities of 'Jadroplov' in Split and not to financially burden or sell the company's real-estate, fleet and shares within the upcoming five years.
'Tankerska plovidba' also agrees to keep on the same number of employees, to buy three ships and to hire the additional number of 132 employees within the next five years. It is also the plan of 'Tankerska plovidba' to build a new ship for dry cargo in one of the domestic ship yards.
Based on the presented offer, 'Tankerska plovidba' would have the obligation to invest another HRK 207.9 million into 'Jadroplov'.
It is expected that HFP will make a decision regarding the ‘Tankerska plovidba’ offer on its next management board meeting, said the vice – president of the HFP sales department Ivan Gotovac. That meeting should be organized during January.
The other two companies which initially seemed to be interested in the purchase of 'Jadroplov' shares were Peter Doehle and the Fiama Holdings S.A. from Liberia. In the end the HFP did not receive their obligatory offers.
The attorney Miroljub Maćešić who represents the Liberian company stated that that company did not participate in the final offer because they considered the HFP obligatory conditions to be too strict. It was not the price which caused their withdrawal. (Hina)
