‘Jadrolinija’, the largest domestic liner shipping company will achieve in 2005 approximately HRK 570 million of income, compared to those figures, expenses will be lower which will also cause smaller profit, the company announced.
Slavko Lončar, Board president, stated that this year the company’s vessels had transported over 8 million passengers, and over 2.5 million vehicles.
For now the seafarers' fleet is counting 55 vessels. This year the fleet was modernized with four new vessels, discarding 2 old ones.
In 2006, ‘Jadrolinija’ will start negotiating contracts regarding the construction of two new ferries of larger capacity, similar to the current ferry 'Marjan'.
According to Lončar, the highest business costs for 'Jadrolinija' consist of costs related to propulsive fuel, but still 'Jadrolinija' managed to rationalize and to achieve positive business results for the current year. (Hina)
