According to Darko Glažar, captain at the Port Rijeka, charges were brought against the captain and the shipmaster of the ship "Alfie". Yesterday, the mentioned ship, while entering the harbor of Mali Lošinj, dashed against four other ships and the waterfront, causing visible damage.
He further explained that the investigation of the Harbormaster’s office inspectors had shown that the accident occurred due to a mistake performed by responsible persons onboard of the ship. Glažar added that the fine for the violation would be set by the authorized institution.
Yesterday at 1:30 pm, the ship "Alfie" ran into the ships "Slavutich", "Ivan Zajc", "Sis" and ‘Novalja’ as well as the waterfront, damaging the floating dock. The ship is 115 meters long and sails under the Maltese flag.
The inspectors of the Harbormaster"s office have established that, considering the circumstances, there was no serious damage, nobody of the crew members was injured and the pollution of the sea and coast was prevented.
Glažar concluded that most of the damage had been caused to the waterfront. (Hina)
