The government on Thursday amended a decision on its consent for Croatia Airlines's loan from the Croatian Postal Bank and Privredna Banka Zagreb for financing the maintenance of airplane engines, extending the repayment deadline, among other things.
Transport Minister Oleg Butkovic said the airline had requested a repayment deferral due to COVID-related business problems.
The €8.5 million loan agreement for engine maintenance was signed in spring 2018. The repayment deadline was 31 December 2022 but it has now been extended until 30 June 2023.
