A new training programme for aircraft maintenance staff from all over the world has been launched at the Croatia Airlines (CA) Technical Centre in cooperation with the Velika Gorica College, CA told reporters on Tuesday.
This is the only such programme in Europe and it will enable students to obtain an international aircraft maintenance licence. A two-year programme is envisaged for obtaining an international aircraft maintenance licence and a three-year programme for obtaining the title of engineer.
Classes will be held in English and comprise 13 courses. The fee for the two-year programme is EUR 15,000. Twelve students have enrolled this year, from Great Britain, Germany, Cyprus, Pakistan and the Middle East. Up to 50 students are expected to enroll next year.
CEO Kresimir Kucko said that with this programme CA had enabled an even greater export of Croatian know-how, voicing confidence that CA could become a leader in this business segment.
He said CA landed demanding several maintenance contracts at international tenders, and that an investment of EUR 15 million in one hangar had enabled the company to maintain its fleet more swiftly and more efficiently as well as participate in international tenders and expand its services. He said this would help to increase revenue from aircraft maintenance to HRK 33 million this year.
