The three Slovenian citizens, who went missing after going on a motorboat trip yesterday afternoon, were saved this morning around 8 a.m. They were located by a boat from the Port Authority branch-office Mali Lošinj 1 nautical mile (1852 meters) east from the small island Oruda near Lošinj.

The Grandfather (61) and Grandmother (56) with their two-year old Grandson started their trip yesterday from Veli Lošinj around 13 p.m. on a motorboat type 'PEICA' bay liner, 5 meters long. In the evening, the owner of their motel became suspicious after noticing that the Slovenian guest had not returned from their trip. The motel owner decided to alarm the MRCC (maritime rescue coordination centre) in Rijeka after which the rescue operation began.

The first rescue attempts lasted the same evening until 1.30 a.m. after which the rescue parties decided to wait until dawn due to bad weather conditions. In the morning at 7 a.m., besides the boat LI Mali Lošnji, the operation also involved an airplane type 'Pilatus'.

One hour later the lost tourists were located. All of them were in a good condition.
