One person killed, one injured in railway accident

One person was killed and another one was wounded in a train accident which occurred at 7.50 pm on Friday between Skrad and Zalesina, about 100 kilometres southeast of Zagreb, on the railway between Zagreb and Rijeka, the police and the national railway operator HZ said.

The accident happened when a freight train travelling from Zagreb to Rijeka derailed due to a rockslide outside a tunnel it was about to enter, HZ Holding CEO Zlatko Rogozar told Croatian Television.

The engine driver was killed in the accident and one person was injured.
