Minister Kalmeta declared Zagreb Auto Show 2008 for open

The Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Božidar Kalmeta opened today the Zagreb Auto Show 2008, featuring 642 exhibitors from 35 countries, at the Zagreb Trade Fair Centre. 

The Minister praised the organization of the event which received numerous compliments from international circles and he added that the show was presenting products regarding tourism and the country’s economics reaching as far as small and medium entrepreneurship since many Croatian entrepreneurs are participating in the automobile industry.

Also very positive, according to the Minister, is the regular organization of the ‘Zagreb Transport Show’ which is another important occasion that proofs the interest of foreign investors.

The event, which lasts until April 6, is one of the biggest and most visited Croatian fairs and the biggest auto show in Central and Southeast Europe.

It belongs to the B group of automobile fairs in Europe, right after the biggest car fairs held in Geneva, Paris and Frankfurt.

The car show is held biannually, and this year's event will feature 51 car makes and 348 models, as well as 35 makes and 180 models of motorcycles and scooters. Some of the brands, such as those from Iran and India, will be presented to the Croatian public for the first time.
