At the session of the City Council in Obrovac which was marking the day of the city, st. Joseph's holiday, the Minster of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development Božidar Kalmeta pointed out that the Ministry and the Croatian Electricity Company (HEP-Hrvatska Elektroprivreda) would invest HRK 120 million (EUR 16,4 million) to secure the electrification of the Obrovac area.

He explained that every house would be provided with electricity, for that was one of the preconditions of the 21st centuries.

Kalmeta also informed the journalists that the Government was investing HRK 150 million (EUR 20 million) in the eastern water-supply system which includes numerous villages in the Obrovac and Benkovac area.

By saying that, he concluded once more that the Zadar County was one of the most prosperous counties in Croatia thanks to the motorway A1 and thanks to the people who insisted for that motorway to cross that particular area.

When it comes to creating jobs, an Italian investor who is about to construct a factory here will hire approximately 400 people, so that the problem of unemployment in this area will soon become a problem of the past, Kalmeta concluded.

The Mayor of Obrovac Ante Župan, also announced the opening of a water filling station at the Krupa River which will also support employment and further development of the Elan production in Obrovac.
