The Serbian airline JAT Airways is scheduled to introduce flights from Belgrade to the northern Adriatic resort of Pula and back, twice a week as of July, according to the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.

Belgrade-based Beta agency reported on Tuesday that the Croatian civil aviation authorities granted JAT Airways a temporary permit for flights between Belgrade and Pula, to expire on 19 September. The information was confirmed by the spokeswoman for the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Marina Halužan.

The spokeswoman said the permit was temporary given that the two countries have not yet signed an air traffic agreement, the negotiations on which were launched on 30 May.

The first plane from Belgrade to Pula is expected to take off on 3 July. The flights will take place on Thursdays and Sundays. (Hina)
