Istrian Y: Toll to be paid Via SMS

It will be possible to pay the road toll for the Istrian Y via mobile phone, as of 8 March. The concession company Bina – Istria has made it possible for all credit card and mobile phone users to renew their prepaid account and to receive info about the current state of their account via SMS.

In order to activate the service it will be necessary to hand in a request and to ask for the activation of the SMS service at the designated Bina – Istria point of sales, the Tunnel Ucka or the Mirna Bridge, along with presenting the demanded documents of identification.

After the request has been granted, a certain amount of money has to be paid into the account and Bina – Istria has to be authorized to perform the payments via SMS. The user also receives a magnetic prepaid card and a secret PIN.

Prepaid accounts can be paid for in cash, via credit card, free info phone 0800-600-601 and traditional or electronic payment order.

To activate the service the user has to answer the received SMS by sending a message containing the letter “N” and his/her account will be updated, immediately. To receive further info about the account (validity, state…) it will be enough to send an SMS containing the user’s PIN and the letter “S”.
