Increase Of Traffic At Airports Pula And Dubrovnik

On 15 October, the Dubrovnik Airport at Ćilipe welcomed this year's 1 millionth passenger. According to the Airport statistics, that passenger was Ms. Ivana Mijić from Zadar, who had arrived by the plane 'Norvegain Air Shuttle' from Bergen.

On that festive occasion, the general manager of the Dubrovnik Airport announced projects for the reconstruction of the airport which would include the reconstruction of the buildings and the construction of a hotel and two large business centers. According to him, that would create conditions for the arrival of 2 million passengers per year, until 2008.

The Pula Airport, after war and postwar years, has managed to reach again the figure of 200 000 passengers. Patricia Pickering form South Wales was the 200 thousandth passenger. On Tuesday, 18 October, she departed to London with the British air carrier ''Britannia''.

The general manager of the Pula Airport is hoping that the airport will manage to register up to  205 000 passengers until the end of the year, which is a large improvement as compared to last year's 156 000 passengers. According to all indicators, the year 2010 might reach 500 000 passengers.
