Foreign Cruisers Made 280 Voyages to Croatia in first Seven Months of 2006

Foreign cruisers with 279,256 passengers aboard sailed into Croatian seaports in the first seven months of 2006, according to figures recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

The number of cruising voyages by foreign vessels in Croatia rose by 26.1 percent to 280 and the number of passenger on board increased by 14.3 percent in comparison to the January-July period of 2005.

This July saw 90 foreign cruisers on voyages in Croatia, with a total of 96,476 passengers.

The southern Adriatic resort of Dubrovnik was the top destination with 234 foreign vessels having visited it on their voyages along the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea in the first seven months of 2006.

The town of Korčula on the island of Korčula was ranked second with 65 cruisers. Korčula was followed by Split (25), Zadar (22), Rijeka, Pula, Hvar and Ploče. Those destinations counted the visits of 13 foreign cruisers during the above mentioned period.
