Fire put out on Zuiderdan cruiser while in Dubrovnik, no injuries

There were no injuries in a fire which erupted on the Zuiderdan cruiser at 1412 hrs Tuesday while it was in the port of Dubrovnik, Croatia's Transport Ministry said in a press release.

The fire was extinguished by Dubrovnik firefighters at 1550 hrs. The causes of the blaze, which erupted in a storeroom, are still unknown. There are 2,018 passengers a 814-strong crew on this 83,305-tonne cruiser.

The cruiser, which is owned by the Holland America Line, arrived in Dubrovnik from Venice on Tuesday morning. It is expected to depart from this Croatian Adriatic resort for the Greek island of Corfu at 1900 hrs Tuesday.
