Exercise: Rescue operation on Board of Jadrolinija ship

An operational surveillance exercise – evacuating the ship, extinguishing a fire on a ship with an injured person on board, rescuing a person from the sea and preventing the expansion of maritime pollution – was organized today on board of the Jadrolinija ship ''Marco Polo'' at the Rijeka port.

The exercise was organized in cooperation with the Rijeka Port Authority and it included the engagement of a crew counting 65 seamen on board the passenger ship ‘Marco Polo’ by the ‘Caroline of Rijeka’ Pier.

The exercise was also observed be the pupils of the Bakar Maritime High school as well as by the students of the Rijeka Maritime University.

According to regulations, these operational surveillance exercises are being held prior to the beginning of every upcoming tourist season.
