EBRD reported initiation of proceedings of the public procurement for the reconstruction Project of the port of Sibenik

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on Monday announced on the launch of the public procurement procedures for the infrastructure reconstruction Project at the Port of Sibenik, related to the expansion of the port Vrulje.

As further revealed, the Port Authority "Sibenik" by the EBRD's 12 million EUR of the loan obtain to finance the Project of the expansion and reconfiguration of the passenger berths in the port of Vrulje.

The proposed Project is required for the procurement of the public works on the extension and reconfiguration of the passenger berth in the port of Vrulje, and for the consultancy services and the supervision duties.

The start of the collecting of the bids for the works and services at the EBRD are expected in the second quarter of 2010th.

Contracts  financed with the money from the EBRD's loan must be in accordance with the Bank's policies and measures for the management of the public procurement procedures. Participation in the public procurement procedure is open to all countries, as the official statement reveals.

Project total value of the 15 million EUR includes the conversion of the Port of Vrulje into a port for ferries to dock in length to 150 meters, also as for the cruise-ships in length up to 260 meters, ferries and coastal vessels up to 50 meters in length and ships in international traffic, with modern passenger transport terminal.

Expansion of the moorings is expected to increase the capacity of the existing port's infrastructure and, thereby, to enable the efficient reception of the island ferries and medium-sized cruise-ships that enters into the harbor waters, according to a further statement.
