Dubrovnik Airport Ltd Awarded by British Airways

Dubrovnik Airport Ltd was awarded by British Airways as a winner of the British Airways best performing award for ground handling services, on shourthaul operations, in the competition of 65 international airports, through the period of the last 18 months.

By receiving that Award, Dubrovnik Airport was pronounced one of British Airways" best partners, in the competition of all European airports which cooperate with that company.

The certification was personally handed to Dubrovnik Airport deputy director, Mr. Frano Luetić, by British Airways director of ground operations Mr. Geoff Want, on 17 November in the London British Airways head office. The meeting was organized for all company heads and over 150 representatives of European airports which are performing ground handling services for the British air company.

The meeting"s main topic was "How to build our future together", discussing British Airways" upcoming plans and the plans of the company"s partners who are providing services at airports outside of Great Britain.

According to data received from the Dubrovnik Airport, during the first ten months, this year, they counted over one million passengers (up by 11% over 2004). The numbers peaked in June, when the airport registered 182 000 passengers. Approximately 35 000 passengers are expected during the last two months of this year. In the first ten months the airport in Čilipe had 13 625 plane departures and arrivals (10 521 international/3 104 domestic flights).
