The factory 'Đuro Đaković' – Special Vehicles delivered for the Croatian Railways (Hrvatske željeznice – HŽ) 23 new cargo wagons.

After the handover Davorin Kobak, the new president of the HŽ, announced the signing of a new contract with 'Đuro Đaković' regarding 300 cargo wagons in the value of HRK 220 million. This contract was also supported by the Croatian Government at its last session in Slavonski Brod.

Kobak confirmed that the negotiating parties of Đuro Đaković and the HŽ had reached an agreement regarding all details of the new contract, which was expected to be signed next week.

'The contract is finalized. Until now we have received five offers from local banks and based on those offers we have made a list, which we will send to the Ministry of Finance for approval. After that the contract will be signed', said Kobak.

He expressed his satisfaction regarding the quality and price of the cargo wagons which Đuro Đaković is producing for the HŽ. The 23 wagons which have been handed over today had been produced based on previously signed contracts.

The president of 'Đuro Đaković' – Special Vehicles, Bartol Jerković, emphasized how during the last 3 years, based on 5 contracts signed with HŽ, they had produced 652 wagons in the value of EUR 45 million. Until today 618 wagons had been handed over and the rest would be finished and delivered to HŽ by Christmas.

Jerković repeated that the signing of a new contract was a guarantee for the ongoing production and export of cargo wagons. (Hina)
