Croatian telecommunications - postponing start of new service

According to official information the Council of the Croatian Telecommunications Agency asked the Croatian telecommunication company HT-Hrvatske telekomunikacije d.d. to temporarily defer its MAXphone service until the completion of the legal procedure.

During the ongoing procedure, the Agency’s Council is about to define whether MAXphone stands for VoIP or a public voice service in a fixed telecom network, which due to the existing Telecommunications Act is subject to regulations. In accordance with the final definition of the named service, the Agency’s Council is planning further steps.

With this decision the Council is protecting the market from possible abuse.
