Croatian consortium selected to revamp Dugo Selo-Krizevci rail line

The HZ Infrastruktura company, specialised in the management, maintenance and building of railway infrastructure, said on Wednesday it had selected a Croatian consortium consisting of Dalekovod, Zagreb-Montaza and DIV companies to perform HRK 1.3 billion work on the 38.2-kilometre long rail line from Dugo Selo to Krizevci.

Also, the Zagreb-based engineering and construction company Dalekovod issued a press release via the Zagreb Stock Exchange on Wednesday saying it had been awarded, together with other members of the bidding consortium, the job of revamping the existing infrastructure of the Dugo Selo-Krizevci rail line and building an additional line along that route.

HZ Infrastruktura stated that the work should begin in a few months' time, noting that this project is co-financed by the European Union.

The value of the entire project is estimated at HRK 1.52 billion, of which 85% is to be secured by the European Regional Development Fund and 15% by Croatia.

The value of the construction and upgrading work is estimated at HRK 1.3 billion, while other work such as supervision of the work and settling property relations in the area concerned increase the cost to a total of 1.52 billion.

The upgrading of the rail infrastructure along this route north-east of Zagreb is expected to reduce travel time from 30 to 18 minutes. The consortium is expected to build six bridges, reconstruct the existing seven bridges,  construct 17 level crossings and new flyovers and some other facilities.

The two previous tenders for this job had been been cancelled due to irregularities in bidding documents.
