Transport and Infrastructure Minister Oleg Butkovic launched a test phase of digital audio broadcasting in Croatia on Monday.

Digital audio broadcasting was launched at the Transmitters and Communications company's facilities on Mount Sljeme overlooking Zagreb.

This new digital platform will enable listening to the radio without interruption and will offer a higher number of channels with a series of other services.

The test run will last a year and will cover the areas of the City of Zagreb and eight counties in the northwest of the country and south of Zagreb.

The state-owned Transmitters and Communications (OiV) has started introducing digital radio in Croatia in accordance with global trends.
