Bosnian Transport and Communications Minister Rudo Vidovic, Croatian motorway operator Hrvatske Autoceste CEO Stjepko Boban and a representative of the Austrian Strabag company on Thursday signed an agreement on the construction of an international bridge on the Sava River at Svilaj on the Croatian-Bosnian border.

The bridge will be an integral part of a highway running along the pan-European Vc corridor, the Bosnian Ministry of Transport and Communications said.

The project is estimated at slightly less than 21 million euros and it will be financed equally by Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The bridge, to be made of concrete and steel, will be 640 metres long and 29 metres wide. The steel part of the bridge will weigh 5,000 tonnes.

The bridge is to be built in 24 months from the moment construction begins.
