Croatia, Bosnia ink deal on construction of Sava River bridge on Corridor Vc
A state secretary at the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Danijel Mileta, and Bosnia and Herzegovina Transport and Communications Minister Rudo Vidovic, in Sarajevo on Wednesday signed an agreement on the construction of a bridge over the Sava river near Svilaj, to be part of a highway on the transport corridor Vc, and an agreement on the financing and drawing up of a project to modernise the Sava river navigation route from Racinovci to Sisak.
The documents were signed on the fringes of the 6th annual meeting of representatives of Southeast European transport ministries, at which the transport ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania signed a memorandum of understanding on the modernisation of the road connecting Sarajevo, Podgorica and Tirana.
The agreement on the construction of the bridge near Svilaj foresees the construction of a modern border crossing and access roads on both sides of the border.
Mileta confirmed that Croatia had already secured the necessary funds (HRK 345 million) for the construction work on its territory from the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In Croatia, the project will be implemented by the Hrvatske Autoceste motorway operator.
Bosnia has also secured funds for the construction of this strategic facility on Corridor Vc. Minister Vidovic reiterated that the country had already received a loan of EUR 500 million for the construction of four sections of the highway on Corridor Vc, connecting Budapest and Ploce.
