The Croatian State Secretary for Infrastructure, Zdravko Livaković, and Bosnian Transport and Communications Minister Božo Ljubić on Monday initialled a joint statement on the construction of a bridge on the Sava River, on a section of the pan-European road corridor 5c running from Svilaj in Croatia to Odžak in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Croatian Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Ministry stated.

The 760-metre bridge is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

By the time the bridge is built, Croatia is expected to build a five-kilometre access road, running from the intersection of Corridor 10 and Corridor 5c at Sredanci to the bridge, and Bosnia is to build an 11 kilometre road from the Sava to Odzak.

The two countries will equally finance the construction works.

Croatia plans to build its section of the 5c highway corridor by the end of 2012. (Hina)
