Croatia Airlines marks the 20th anniversary of its first international flight on Thursday. The national carrier made its first commercial flight on 5 April 1992 when its Boeing 737-200 flew 15 passengers to Frankfurt.

In the last 20 years, Croatia Airlines has flown about 2,481,000 passengers from Zagreb to Frankfurt and back, or 1,288,000 from Zagreb to Frankfurt and 1,193,000 from Frankfurt to Zagreb, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

During this year's tourist season, which traditionally begins with the Easter holidays and lasts until November, Croatia Airlines will operate direct flights to about 30 most important European destinations. In cooperation with its partners, it also offers opportunities to travel to destinations round the globe, including New York and Washington.

Croatia Airlines has a special offer for its anniversary - return tickets for flights from Croatia to all its European destinations for as low as 129 euros. The offer refers only to tickets purchased on 5 April on the airline's website.
