A contract on the HRK 593 million project to build a motorway bypass in the coastal city of Novi Vinodolski was signed on Monday by the Croatian motorway operator (HAC) and a group of two bidders – Slovenia's Kolektor CPG and Italy's ICM SPA, which was selected for this job.

The contract was signed by HAC Management Board Chairman Boris Huzjan and the two companies' executives in the presence of the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Oleg Butković.

The implementation of the project will take three years.

The 9.8-kilometre-long bypass road will reduce traffic jams in this seaside resort, and the route includes the construction of an 834-metre-long tunnel and a 1,062-metre viaduct.
